No Walk in the Park: Optal Races for Glory in JP Morgan Corporate Challenge

At Optal we’re always up for a challenge. We’re also keen to get involved in any activities that will help to fund local worthy causes. So we jumped at the chance to take part in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, a long-running event that will see Optal’s finest compete for top honours in a race around Battersea Park next week.

Racing for the line

We’re a pretty competitive lot at Optal. It’s this spirit of ambition that has helped to propel our business to stellar growth over the past few years. In fact, we’re officially one of the UK and Europe’s fastest-growing private companies today. Our mission to deliver seamless, optimised B2B payment experiences for organisations around the world is really starting to hit home.

Winning hearts and minds in the boardroom and soaring up the business league tables is one thing, but doing it for real on the track, is another. So, we’ve picked over 30 of our fittest, most competitive employees to take on all-comers in Battersea Park on 4th July.

This is no walk in the park. According to the rules, our 38 participants will be grouped strictly into teams of up to four people to tackle the 3.5-mile (5.6km) course. Our Company Captain will be in charge of managing the event and pushing our running stars to reach their potential. The winners of the event have a chance to qualify for the Series Championship, where they’ll race against the winners of all the Series events around the world to be crowned as corporate running champions.

A worthy cause

Most importantly, though, it’s a great opportunity to promote employee wellbeing and fitness in the workplace. Plus, JPMorgan Chase has donated more than $750,000 to not-for-profit organizations throughout the Series cities last year, as part of a giveaway of over $2.2m over the past three years. This year’s worthy cause in London is the Alzheimer’s Society.

We’re looking forward to doing our bit for a great cause and seeing how we stack up against the stars of the corporate running world.
