Optal Named One of EMEA’s Fastest-Growing Tech Firms

Tuesday, 19 December 2017, London:

The past 12 months have been a standout year for everyone at Optal, and we’ve just received news that’s the icing on the cake: a place in the prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast 500 rankings. It’s confirmation that Optal is one of the fastest-growing technology firms in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Recognition again

The Deloitte-backed list is regarded as a highly authoritative and objective industry ranking of the fastest-growing tech firms in the region. This year’s list was compiled after exhaustive work analysing percentage fiscal-year revenue growth from 2013 to 2016.

Our 65th place puts us in the upper echelons of EMEA’s most exciting businesses, alongside household names like Deliveroo and online florist Bloom and Wild. With named companies hailing from 18 countries and averaging an impressive growth rate of 1,377%, it’s particularly pleasing to be placed so high up this year’s list.

We’re also proud to fly the flag for the UK, which narrowly missed out on top spot but still managed an impressive 92 ranked companies.

One of many

This is just the latest such award for Optal in 2017, following similar recognition on the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250, Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 list, and the inaugural FT1000 list of Europe’s 1,000 fastest-growing companies. We were also named by the London Stock Exchange Group as one of the 1,000 most inspirational companies in Britain. As if that weren’t enough, one of our rising stars, Ula Obolewicz, was recently shortlisted for a place on the prestigious Women in Fintech PowerList 2017.

It’s yet more confirmation that our mission to simplify B2B payments for global organisations is really hitting home with the market. Optal’s Virtual Account Number (VAN) payment solution automatically generates 16-digit, single-use, Mastercard numbers to facilitate fast, simple and secure payments. It’s already helping countless organisations in industries as diverse as travel and insurance to streamline their payment processes, stripping out unnecessary cost and complexity.

Thanks to VANs and our other innovative offerings, Optal is reinventing how payments work. We’re looking forward to helping many more companies and partners in an ever-growing range of industries do just that in 2018.
